Exploring the obscure – my journey

Home » About

This is a blog dedicated to sharing my research into the culture of the 5th century CE  Northern Wei  (the Xianbei) and the early 7th century CE Kingdom of Italy (the Langobards).

In the SCA world I am known as Alessandra Salviati Crespelle or as Dúgū Jǐnán. I enjoy all kinds of activities, including costuming, archery and cooking.  My greatest passion is research on the obscure and not well known topics.

And, yes I love to look well and I overdress even for the kitchen duties. If you here jingles at an event, it is probably me walking around.

In the modern world I am a researcher who  tackles the structure of  proteins.
